And while the others are certainly more than capable of holding their own, it always seems to come down to either Will or El in the midst of the worst battles. Everything becomes second nature in the midst of a battle as survival instincts kick in, and more and more over the years, Will’s learned to lean into these instincts-to trust himself and his magic to not let the others down. There’s something to be said about the terrifying and all-consuming rush of energy that takes over whenever a fight breaks out.
